Welcome to Values and Identity Development in Adolescence Lab

We examine how personal factors, such as values and identity, influence child and adolescent behaviors, as well as the effects of interactions between personality and environmental factors on youth development.

Why do we behave the way we do?

How can we foster prosocial values in adolescents? How can supporting identity development enhance youth well-being? What personal factors influence pro-environmental behaviors among adolescents?

Find the answers to these questions and more on our website.

Our Vision

We seek to drive positive change by exploring how personal values influence prosocial and pro-environmental behaviors in youth.

Our vision is to create a groundbreaking model that clarifies how values evolve and identify factors that support or hinder their development. Additionally, we aim to understand how various aspects of identity development affect adolescents' well-being, providing insights into how personal growth contributes to a fulfilling and healthy life.

BEVALUE PROJECT

From Behavior to Values: An Unexplored Process of Personal Values Development

The BeValue project, funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant, aims to develop a theoretical model explaining how behavior changes lead to shifts in values. This innovative approach seeks to transform the understanding of values change, offering insights for educators, clinicians, and policymakers to support youth development and societal cohesion.
